The purpose of life groups is to have a small group where you study God’s Word, pray, share concerns, talk about issues, care for each other and have fun together. This is what church is supposed to be. And if we are interested in being a true, unstoppable, New Testament church, then small group ministry needs to be a great priority for our church.
Acts 2:42 teaches that these things are what the NT church were participating in together; it is a summary of what the Christian “Life” involves as it relates to fellowshipping with
The main focus and purpose of life groups in the church is to develop disciples of Jesus Christ. This is one of the greatest purposes of Christ teaching and is one of the greatest goals of New Testament church. Helping Christians better understand who Jesus is and how to better live like Him needs to be a priority in the church.
The purpose of life groups is not to create cliques or social clubs, it is an attempt to build greater community within the church and to make an eternal difference in peoples lives.
The life group not only meets regularly to worship, share, feed on the Word, and pray, but to also reach outside their walls into the community.
A Christ-centered home can become a place where people who would never come to a church are willing to engage with someone over a cup of coffee.
Others who have never really engaged with a group of believers can engage with them at a level never
possible within a traditional church.
And without ever setting foot in a church building, people outside of Christ are seeing Christ-followers in real-life, living out the Christian faith.
